MAIN STREET by Bonnie Morrison
"Main Street" is a chance to display my work (including years of classes, collections, purchases, gift exchanges/trades) and to share so many memories.
Step inside "Los Quoque Exploremus" collectibles & antique shop with its garden overflow, before stopping for "High Tea" at "Le Parisienne." "Hop on Inn" to "Little Peeps" before trying some breathtaking hats at "Yes! M'Lady."
Finally, turn back down the lane, past all the graffiti, Eiffel Tower mural and can't you just hear them singing "Green door! what's that secret you're keeping?" Don't miss "Art Off Main" round the corner of the antique store, once you get to the top of the lane!
Browse * Shop * Indulge

VILLA LEONE By Elizabeth Slinn
Buongioino a tutti
It was just over 2 years ago when I began to build my Greenleaf Willowcrest dollhouse kit, and quite early on (and for no good reason), I chose to make it an ancient crumbling family villa with a small garden on a Venetian canal.
The exterior texture is composed of full-sized millwork trims from the lumber yard, wooden chess pieces, metal and resin castings as well as layer upon layer of wallpatch, concrete, sand and paper clay; not to mention paints, stains, washes, chalks, pencil and railroad model foliage used for age and algae.
During early construction, I enlarged the original 2 small attic windows, which later on caused me to eleiminate the mansard roof; and thus the villa continued to radically evolve.
The interior floor plan of the kit was entirely reconfigured with new rooms and narrow passageways. Kit windows and doors were either replaced, repositioned, enlarged, or eliminated as required. All the walls were papered and aged and the ceilings were "Venetian plastered."
Our wonderful world of miniatures incorporate many of our full-sized skills and talents; albeit greatly reduced and refined and each room in Villa Leone, contains many "favourite things"; mini treasures from special friends: No wonder this hobby is so much fun!
A BIG Thank You to all who encouraged me from the beginning, right to the end, and may you feel transported to the city of romance whenever you visit VILLA LEONE: at Studio E Miniatures
